Share Love Today!

One of the most precious moments of my life to date is the following true story:

I was a teenager in high school, living at home and working. My brother Steve and his son Tony lived in the Ohana on property (a separate unit on the same property).

One day as I was “getting ready” for work. You know the drill, makeup/hair, etc. There was a knock on the door. I asked, “who is it?” The sweet tender voice of my little two-year-old nephew said, “Tony”. I immediately opened the door. His voice always melted my heart. He spoke with such purity.

There he was, standing looking at me with a Plumeria in his hand. He handed me the Plumeria. Time stopped. All the sudden I was not in a hurry to “get ready” to go to work. Who cares if my hair was not perfect. I became very present in the moment. I got on my knees to be at his level and held him in my arms. I wept. I thanked him. He told me he picked the flower for me. The sweet seemingly little but BIG act of kindness from my precious 2-year-old nephew blew my mind and expanded my heart. It brings tears to my eyes writing about it. A true pure act of love is heartwarming and impacting.

Later, I came to find out no one in the household instructed him to do this. Tony picked up a plumeria somewhere on the property and on his own accord decided to find me and give the flower to me, sharing his love.

With that said, I hope this story inspires you to share some love today.

To this day, I have the plumeria Tony gave me. It is symbolic. It reminds me of the beauty, the power, the kindness, the spontaneity, and the purity of love. Love from a child does not get any purer. What a gift.

Today, please share some love. Love your Higher Power. Love yourself. Love others. Whatever that may look like, small, or great, simply share.
